Boloria selene - Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary
This was the first species of Fritillary I ever saw, as I recall on the coastal cliffs of Cornwall. I can find it much closer to home these days, and that is where all these butterfly photographs come from.
The black post-discal spot in S2 of the upperside of the forewing can be seen to be much laterally displaced from between it's related S2 spots, compared with the previous species.
