This species sports a wonderful pastel shade of blue, and can be seen both early and late in the season. It characteristically flies within and around and over the hedgerows, behaviour quite different from at least any other UK butterflies. 

It rarely allows a decent opportunity for a butterfly photograph so I'm always pleased to get a decent shot.
