Boloria polaris - Polar Fritillary
I was lucky enough to see about four of these high on the fells of Finnmark on a trip to Lapland in 2018. It was the main reason for my journey, and sighting this rare and beautiful creature produced a combination of relief and excitement. When flushed, they flew low and fast some thirty metres before alighting, sometimes to allow close enough careful approach for these butterfly photographs.
