I was lucky enough to see several of these on a trip to Lapland in 2018. They were very active, but did settle frequently to allow close enough approach for these butterfly  photographs.  In flight, they appeared worn, but most were very fresh and hadn't yet lost many scales, which they are prone to doing rather quickly.
