Although this New World species has a foothold in Europe, I have only seen it in the US. It does differ from our more familiar Painted Lady in many ways, and is easily identified as "different" even at a distance. I doubt I shall catch up with the European population, so these butterfly photos are most likely to remain my homage to this lovely species.
