I seem to have seen a lot of this species, mostly in the Haute Savoie. As previously mentioned, the main feature to tell this from the previous species medusa, is the black antennal tip underneath. 

The bottom left and right sided butterfly photos were taken in the Pyrenees, and are of the form pacula.
