Another one that escaped my Alpine lens until I could spend a while there in the later season. Once found, I came across it a few times for a butterfly photograph, but like all Erebia seem to be, it was hard to approach. It has a particularly pretty purplish sheen when fresh, as some of these were. It could be quite easily confused with montana in the field.
