These were photographed in the Midi Pyrenees in early August 2016. They show the large conjoined forewing eyespots and wide orange bands which separate this species from the other Brassy Ringlets. They were extremely difficult to approach and none of my butterfly photographs were taken from as close as I would normally wish.
