Gonepteryx rhamni - Brimstone
My childhood memories of this species were fleeting glimpses when in the South of England. Now I occasionally see it in our Yorkshire garden, usually a couple of times a year. On trips elsewhere it is a sunshine reminder of Spring and Summer, always a joy.
The one butterfly photo, below left, of the female shows how much more pale green it appears relative to the male.
