This is a rare butterfly of later summer in Southern England, but not infrequently encountered in the Alps. Both these photos were taken in the latter region, though hopefully I will have a more pristine example to show in the future. 

Note the similarities with the Large Skipper compared to the other golden Skippers represented in butterfly photographs on this site.
