Lopinga achine - Woodland Brown
I have had the privilege of seeing this species on rare occasions in the Swiss and Italian Alpine forests. It is extremely difficult to get a butterfly photograph, being both habitually out of reach and unapproachably flighty.
I fortunately spent some hours in the midst of a healthy colony in 2017, time which was needed to obtain any worthwhile images.
It is a large, unique and very attractive Satyrid I hope to have more luck with in the future.
