This is one of the very most common of European butterflies, and can be seen virtually everywhere. Nevertheless, I think there has been a decline in numbers, like every other butterfly. 

Despite it's ubiquitous presence, it is never easy to obtain a butterfly photograph, being very restless, and easy to over expose.
