I have spent years wanting to see this species, prevented by not being able to be in their range during August. This year I could, and was amply rewarded. Where seen in Northern Spain in Huesca, they were plentiful.
Here are the butterfly photographs I achieved.
Although they were disinclined to open their wings, one male did so long enough to display the rather obvious andraconial patch on the forewing typical of the species..
