Pyrgus andromedae - Alpine Grizzled Skipper
This Pyrgus was smaller than I expected. I am reliably informed of the identity despite the diagnostic three small spots on the costal margin of the discal zone of the forewing not being vivible on this image, from the high Swiss Alps. The exclamation mark on the hindwing S1c is however prominent. This is another distinctive feature. Minimal upperside hindwing markings also seem fairly typical. Another rarely seen butterfly in the Alps for me hence the lack of photographs.
