This one turned up in France, on a visit to the Vercors, when I began to suspect Mallow Skipper was the only Carcharodus species I would see. Quite obviously different in darker more steely ground colour, it was a pleasure to watch restlessly surveying and protecting it's territory near a small stream road crossing.
