This Fritillary seems out on it's own in thr West. It differs from all other European Fritillaries quite significantly. It is a fast moving, alert species which has taken me some time to obtain a butterfly photograph in any decent way. The two top photos are male and the bottom two female, I believe. 

 

These images have been taken from the Pyrenees to Turkey, it is very widespread and not uncommon.
