I have seen this only once, in the foothills of the Southern French Pyrenees. It wasn't particularly fresh, and did not behave itself for photographs. The background it chose was frustratingly unhelpful, but regadless of all that, it was a definite welcome addition to the number of species I have butterfly photos of.
