In as much as the last species has succeeded, this species has declined in the UK. I am still fortunate to be able to see it on occasions, though never frequently, at home where I can obtain a butterfly photograph.
It is one of those more difficult species to photograph, having the habit of allowing approach only to a point, then it is up and away, though the males have small guarded territories.
