Pieris bryoniae - Mountain Green Veined White
My only known encounter with this species, in a place they are known to fly, and identified by expert eyes, nearly never happened.
I feel like I nearly slid to my maker whilst (badly) traversing an ice sheet on my way back from failing to see flaviofasciata........ these sort of made up for it, and are a testament to holding a camera in the air, trying to remember just where this slide was heading...... into a bush, as it happens, not a considerable drop.... lovely to see these and get at least one butterfly photo after that!
